Dear friends, family, and neighbors – As we head into the holiday season, all of us at North Shore CDC are feeling especially grateful. This year has been full of moments that reminded us what community really means: showing up for one another, celebrating our neighbors’ successes, and standing together through challenges. I also want to gently acknowledge that this traditional holiday season can feel complicated for many, from the deep pain tied to the genocide and displacement of our Indigenous neighbors, to families who carry financial worry, or those who simply don’t celebrate these holidays at all. For me, this season is about gratitude, reflection, and giving back because the best way to celebrate community is by showing care, generosity, and love to one another every day. Over the past year, we’ve witnessed incredible stories of resilience, creativity, and leadership across the North Shore. From young people finding their voice through YouthBuild, to small business owners growing their dreams at the Night Market, to families moving into safe, affordable homes, they are the heartbeat of our work. And none of it would be possible without you. Your support, whether through volunteering, attending events, partnering with us, or simply cheering on our mission, has helped create spaces where people feel seen, valued, and empowered. You help make our neighborhoods vibrant, welcoming places where everyone has the chance to thrive. As we gather with loved ones this Thanksgiving, please know how deeply we appreciate you. Thank you for caring about your community. Thank you for believing in our neighbors. Thank you for being part of the North Shore CDC family. We are excited for everything ahead, and we look forward to continuing this work together—building opportunity, strengthening community, and creating homes and spaces where everyone belongs. From our team to yours, we wish you a warm, joyful, and restorative Thanksgiving. With gratitude, |
