Transforming the Plunge: A Polar Challenge

Can you do 100 jumping jacks in three minutes? Can you sing and juggle at the same time? Join North Shore CDC and LifeBridge North Shore for a fun, competitive, virtual event Transforming the Plunge: A Polar Challenge! This year, since we cannot be together on Super Bowl Sunday to plunge into the Atlantic, North Shore CDC and Lifebridge North Shore are bringing the community together online for a virtual challenge to end homelessness on the North Shore. A unique year deserves a unique challenge.

We call upon students, teachers, and community members to leverage the power of social media by challenging yourself and your friends to perform an activity while you raise funds to combat homelessness. Pick a suggested activity that is physical, intellectual, polar, a talent, or create one on our own! During the first two weeks in March participants will take part in a peer to peer fundraising campaign online with the goal to raise money in support of North Shore CDC and Lifebridge North Shore and share their challenge online through social media. While the Polar Challenge is a fun community-wide event, it also provides a learning opportunity to educate the community about homelessness and housing insecurity on the North Shore. Lifebridge North Shore is committed to serving individuals in need including people who recently transitioned out of homelessness, those in need of day services outside of shelter, and homeless women and men who are working to return to lives of independence and self-sufficiency on the North Shore. North Shore CDC not only provides affordable housing to formerly homeless youth, individuals, and families on the North Shore, but their programming also includes economic and youth development, community engagement, and public art.
