Hawthorne Lofts is part of the Salem Schools project that also includes Residences at St. James. Salem Schools entails the extensive renovation of two historic former schools into modern and energy efficient affordable housing. At this location 29 units will be built with a preference for artists. In addition, the former auditorium will be turned into approximately 5,000 square feet of workspace for artists.
This project is currently under construction and expected to be completed by the end of 2025. For more information on applications and the housing lottery an info session will be held in person at 96 Lafayette St and via zoom on Thursday, April 10th at 5:30 pm.
