Marina Roque Alvarez is a Commonwealth Corps member at NSCDC,
working full-time to support the community through the Massachusetts Service Alliance.
Her journey with the organization began as a student at YouthBuild North Shore, where
she strengthened her English skills and earned certifications in Construction (NCCER)
and as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
Originally from El Salvador, Marina immigrated to the United States at age 17, facing a
period of intense vulnerability being alone with her young daughter, and pregnant following
the loss of her daughters father. Driven by deep love for her children, she turned every
challenge into the strength needed to pursue her education and build a better future.
Passionate about construction and community service, Marina focuses her daily work
on providing volunteer opportunities that empower local residents.
