Carlos Valdovinos

Associate Project Manager / Fellowship for Equitable Affordable Housing Development Fellow

Carlos is the new Associate Project Manager / Fellowship for Equitable Affordable Housing Development Fellow at North Shore CDC, reporting to Ilene Vogel, Director of Real Estate.  He is part of the 2025 cohort of Fellows of the Fellowship for Equitable Affordable Housing Development (FEAHD).  FEAHD is the initiative of OppCo, TND, and Urban Edge with leadership support from Neighborworks America that supports young BIPOC professionals who are early in their careers and are interested in creating an impact in the field of affordable housing development.  

Carlos has a wide range of responsibilities that support NSCDC’s potential and active real estate projects, including involvement in planning, finance, design, construction, and administration.  He assists with key real estate project management functions, such as project feasibility analysis, which includes market research and due diligence.  Carlos also assists with obtaining permits, approvals, conducting regulatory reviews, preparation and management of development team contracts, and preparation of financial applications and reports.  Carlos prepares and tracks project budgets and schedules, and also assists with project financial management, including invoicing and requisitions.    

Carlos is involved with predevelopment, acquisition, construction, and permanent financing, as well as managing design requirements and team coordination through the design phase. He also prepares presentations and documentation related to project progress and outcomes.  Carlos also coordinates with cross-functional teams, including finance, construction, community engagement, and resident services, among other duties.  

Carlos is passionate about building affordable housing solutions that strengthen communities.  He has over five years of experience in land acquisition and real estate development, specializing in identifying, entitling, and preparing subdivision projects for homebuilders in California’s Central Valley.  He recently completed a summer internship with Greystar’s construction team in Boston, expanding his expertise in vertical development. 

Fun facts about Carlos:  Carlos is a former Division 1 and professional soccer player, and is currently Co-President of the Harvard Business School Soccer Club !  He is fluent in English, Spanish, and conversational Portuguese.  Carlos is an avid traveler who has visited Japan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iceland, and Sweden, among other places .
