Small Business Program

North Shore CDC’s Small Business Program aims to support support small businesses and entrepreneurs on the North Shore, with a focus on immigrant-, women-, and minority-owned businesses. We provide free one-on-one technical assistance, business development workshops and promotional events such as markets and tours, and our Incubator Pop-Up shop opportunity. El PUNTO RESTAURANT AND MURAL TOUR

Please join North Shore CDC for a tour of Salem’s vibrant, historic Point neighborhood on Thursday, May 22nd from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Immerse yourself in the community on this walking mural tour of the Punto Urban Art Museum while you learn about local history, art, culture and restaurants. Attendees will sample a taste from each eatery highlighted!

The tour is free to attend, but donations are welcome. Tours in English and Spanish. We will begin at El Patio, located behind 98 Lafayette Street in Salem.

ONE-ON-ONE COACHING

The Small Business Program offers free one-on-one technical assistance to small businesses and entrepreneurs on the North Shore, with a focus on immigrant-, women-, and minority-owned businesses. In monthly sessions, the Small Business Program Manager collaborates with clients to identify challenges and learning opportunities for optimal business development. Together, they tackle issues such as business strategy, funding and accounting, marketing, and technological fluency. This technical assistance helps small business owners make informed decisions, develop valuable professional skills, and achieve their entrepreneurial dreams!

THE INCUBATOR SPACE

The Incubator, located at 104 Lafayette Street in Salem and in close proximity to North Shore CDC offices, was created to help e-commerce businesses and start-ups to test out a physical retail space by providing a free, 6 month lease. Priority will be given to businesses without an existing brick-and-mortar space. 

The application for the next round will open late summer 2025.
