Lisl has been working in the service and volunteerism field for the last 15 years. She first joined the Massachusetts Service Alliance, the State Commission for Service and Volunteerism, in the fall of 2014 as a consultant and then officially came on staff as the Director of Training and Technical Assistance in 2015 where she oversees multiple grants from AmeriCorps as well as many other statewide training opportunities such the Service Enterprise national certification program, the planning of a bi-annual state conference on service and volunteerism and working closely with the AmeriCorps team to support their Training and TA needs. She often jokes that her resume reads like a “choose your own adventure book” in that she has had a lot of varied work experience ranging from teaching environmental education and coaching tennis to supporting those with mental illness in a residential facility and those with developmental disabilities in an employment program to more recently serving as a Senior Program Officer for a national direct AmeriCorps grant at YouthBuild USA. She has a BA in German and Psychology from Bowdoin College and a MSW and EdM from Boston University. Although it is has slowed down in recent years since becoming a parent (which is her true passion, most days at least), she also has a passion for travelling and has visited almost 50 different countries.
