Small Business Program

North Shore CDC’s Small Business Program aims to support support small businesses and entrepreneurs on the North Shore, with a focus on immigrant-, women-, and minority-owned businesses. We provide free one-on-one technical assistance, business development workshops and promotional events such as markets and tours, and our Incubator Pop-Up shop opportunity. QUEER VOICES

A PRIDE PANEL OF LGBTQ+ ENTREPRENEURS

In June, We had the honor of hosting QUEER VOICES: A Pride Panel of LGBTQ+ Entrepreneurs, A night filled with laughter, truth, hard-won wisdom, and community love.
From building inclusive businesses to sharing what it means to lead as your full self, each panelist brought raw honesty and powerful insight. Their stories reminded us: being seen, being heard, and building space matters.

CELEBRATING BIPOC WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS

In March, We had the honor of hosting STORIES OF SUCCESS: Celebrating BIPOC Women Entrepreneurs, An evening highlighting seven incredible business owners on their experience finding success through their entrepreneurial pursuits! 

WHAT WE OFFER

ONE-ON-ONE COACHING

The Small Business Program offers free one-on-one technical assistance to small businesses and entrepreneurs on the North Shore, with a focus on immigrant-, women-, and minority-owned businesses. In monthly sessions, the Small Business Program Manager collaborates with clients to identify challenges and learning opportunities for optimal business development. Together, they tackle issues such as business strategy, funding and accounting, marketing, and technological fluency. This technical assistance helps small business owners make informed decisions, develop valuable professional skills, and achieve their entrepreneurial dreams!

THE INCUBATOR SPACE

The Incubator, located at 104 Lafayette Street in Salem and in close proximity to North Shore CDC offices, was created to help e-commerce businesses and start-ups to test out a physical retail space by providing a free, 6 month lease. Priority will be given to businesses without an existing brick-and-mortar space. 

The application for the next round will open late summer 2025.
