Over the past 13 years, members from the Beverly + Salem communities have come together to raise funds for North Shore CDC and other area nonprofit organizations and take the plunge into the Atlantic Ocean on Super Bowl Sunday. Students from Salem + Beverly public schools compete to raise funds and claim the title of Most Participation + Most Money Raised.
The goal, beyond fundraising, is to raise awareness in the community on homelessness + housing instability on the North Shore. In 2020, we partnered with Lifebridge North Shore, raised over $30,000, split between the organizations, and had over 200 hundred plungers from Beverly + Salem, who dove into the unseasonable warm waters at Lynch Park.
