Kira Riley

Young Adult Housing Case Manager

As a YA Housing Case Manager at NSCDC, Kira partners with youth to facilitate access to stable housing and community resources. Kira initially developed their passion for supporting young adults and families while an undergraduate at Simmons University’s School of Social Work, and later gained clinical experience working with folks experiencing custodial challenges and housing instability.

During COVID-19, Kira witnessed how technology reinforced systemic barriers for clients and was motivated to advocate for individuals historically excluded from design and development processes. After spending a few years pursuing their commitment to equitable research in a user experience setting, Kira felt called to return to a role that allowed them to work directly with individuals.

They bring a dedication to trauma-informed, participatory practices and are thrilled to be part of such a community-driven team at NSCDC. Outside of work, Kira is currently taking graduate courses in computational social science and volunteers on a mental health research board. They enjoy exploring nature along the North Shore, creating art, and taking care of their pet snails.
