Salem Point Retail Market Analysis
Part of the Salem Point Neighborhood Commercial Corridors Revitalization Plan, the Salem Point Retail Market Analysis is an initiative to identify and expand potential commercial and housing investment opportunities along the key corridors in the neighborhood. This analysis is part of and funded by the Working Cities Challenge Grant.
Working Cities Challenge Grant Winner
The City of Salem and their lead partner, North Shore CDC, were awarded $100,000 in a seed award by the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston for their plan to bring one low-income neighborhood’s economic indicators in line with rest of the city by focusing on four issue areas: economic development, small business development, workforce development, and leadership development. Salem Point Neighborhood Visioning Project
The Salem Point Vision and Action Plan empowered residents to create their own community vision and to mobilize resources to ensure that the Point develops sustainability in its housing, land and environmental resources, and its economy. Together the City of Salem, North Shore CDC, and Metropolitan Area Planning Council’s year-long visioning process generated interest among diverse residents in participating in a local planning process that resulted in an Action Plan to guides municipal priorities for local improvements.
